10th Annual Ennis on the Madison Fly Fishing Festival, 8/31 - 9/1, 2012
We have a Winner!
Foundation member Tom Mocilac of Whitehall (center) won the fully equipped ClackaCraft drift boat and trailer at the 10th annual Ennis on the Madison Fly Fishing Festival. Foundation President Dave Bricker (right) and Executive Director Richard Lessner congratulate Tom on his good luck.
This year's casting contest drew many competitors and a crowd of spectators. John Way of the Tackle Shop ran the show and added a twist for this year: Casters had to stand in the boat you see at the head of the casting 'alley'. Says John, "I wanted to reproduce the real deal for this contest. What better way than using a boat as the casting platform?"
When the rods were down and the action over, the following Casting Competition Winners accepted honors and took their places at the head of the pack:
- Kids: Stone Mocilac (1st), Bret Mocilac (2nd), Jocie Sprague (3rd)
- Women: Diana Rudolph (1st), Linda Page (2nd), Laura Hildebrandt (3rd)
- Angler:Alex Hamer (1st), Dan Dee (2nd), Jim Haxlay (3rd)
- Expert: Brian Rosenburg (1st), Bob Kessler (2nd), Joe Dilschneider (3rd)
Our Main Event
The Foundation is proud to sponsor our 'Ennis on the Madison' Fly Fishing Festival each year. It's a chance to present our accomplishments, entertain our members right along with the public, inspire new memberships, and generally mingle, hobnob, and have a great time.
We schedule mini-events that educate, explain, or just tickle some fancies. We hope everyone enjoys themselves and gets a chance to sample some local cuisine while listening to our favorite old or new musicians.
