Vision for the Future

The Madison River Foundation is ideally positioned to be the primary support mechanism for projects and initiatives that directly benefit the Madison River watershed. Cooperative relationships with various governmental agencies and other conservation groups have been developed and, coupled with the efforts of a strong, diverse Board of Directors, the Foundation can unite people with different backgrounds and an assortment of talents in a common cause to preserve and protect the Madison River.

The foundation’s vision focuses the organization on intended outcomes in line with mission imperatives. As goals and objectives are set and achieved, the Madison River Foundation can realize benefits that will firmly establish a solid reputation for integrity, trustworthiness and performance in the field. Achieving those goals shapes a potential vision that incorporates:

  • Generating a high level of public awareness regarding projects and initiatives sponsored by the foundation that directly benefit habitat and individuals who make use of the Madison River.
  • Recognition of the foundation as the preeminent choice for those seeking an opportunity to contribute time and money toward efforts that benefit the Madison River ecosystem.
  • Acknowledgement by government agencies and interest groups that the foundation plays a key role in determining public policy regarding issues and concerns affecting the environmental quality of the Madison River watershed.
  • Identification of the foundation as actively involved in efforts to promote stewardship of public access points along the Madison River and a partner in the process of establishing good relationships between land owners and the public.
  • Developing an established reputation that the foundation sets high standards for organizational integrity, sound business practices and transparent procedures.
