Conservation Through Credible Science

Our Purpose

To preserve, protect and enhance the Madison River through charity, education, and science-based projects.

Our Vision

A healthy Madison River ecosystem from its headwaters in Yellowstone National Park to its confluence with the Missouri River near Three Forks, Montana. To us, healthy means clean water, a thriving fishery, diverse aquatic insect populations, and intact native, riparian areas.

Our Mission

The Madison River Foundation is dedicated to the well-being of the Madison River watershed through conservation, protection and restoration; and by sustaining a balanced and cooperative relationship between its neighboring ranchers, farmers, anglers and businesses, working together to return more cold, clean water back to the river.

Con·ser·va·tion:

  1. Prevention of wasteful use of a resource.

  1. Protecting species from extinction, maintaining and restoring habitats, enhancing ecosystem services, and protecting biological diversity.
